Pat Suriano

You may be asking yourself, “why deadbird?” If you know the artist then you know the answer. Here is a bit more about the artist …

Pat Suriano is a full time college professor, program coordinator, artist, husband and father of 3 amazing children. He received a Fine Arts degree at The University of Waterloo, ON. and a 3-Yr Graphic Design/Advertising Arts diploma (degree bridged program) from Sault College, Sault Ste. Marie, ON. He was born in “the Soo”, in 1977 and spent his teenage years in Northern Ontario, between Sault Ste. Marie and Sudbury, ON. Pat received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a concentration in Studio in 2001, but it was his graphic design skills that paid the bills. Working for various agencies and businesses within Southwestern Ontario, Pat has developed a solid name for himself as a designer, specifically in the area of branding.

Having worked in the corporate communications departments for two Ontario municipalities (City of Brantford, ON. and the City of Waterloo, ON.) Pat understands the value of visual design and how it appeals and applies to the general public. It is with this understanding that Pat was able to win multiple awards for his work internationally, nationally and provincially. Pat has now taken his passion for branding and design to Conestoga College, Kitchener, On. where he has overseen the Advertising and Marketing Communications program for the past 8 years. Passing on the tips and tricks of the industry to up and coming designers and marketers has been rewarding for him. His students are now winning industry awards and putting their names on the map.
